Environmental Consultant
UK - East Anglia | £25,000 - £35,000
A leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy is looking to hire a consultant to join their planning department. Working on projects across the UK, you will be joining an established organisation which has a strong reputation in ecology, landscape architecture and arboriculture.
Focusing on planning projects you will be:
- Managing a team of consultants within the planning department
- Carrying out habitat surveying, species identification and hazard assessment
- Conducting arboriculture surveying work
- Managing multiple projects across the UK at any one time
You will ideally have a degree (or equivalent) in a related environmental discipline and will be a member of a professional body.
You will be commercially focused and will have:
- Extensive ecology experience with licenses in Bats and Badgers
- Proven skills in managing large scale multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of arboriculture, and experience in planning principles

UK - Gloucester | £18,000 - £22,000
One of the UK's most innovative environmental consultancies is currently looking for a Junior Landscape Architect, with a firm understanding of arboriculture, to join their fast growing architecture team in Gloucestershire.
Supporting Senior Architects and Partners, you will be working on long term contracts around landscape planning and design; whilst conducting tree survey work.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Undertaking landscape and visual studies
• Negotiating with local authorities around planning applications
• Coordinating and preparing landscape reports and EIA Chapters
• Participating in teams appraisal and workload planning
You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Landscape Architecture and will ideally be a qualified Arborist . You will have a strong understanding of:
• The UK Planning System including PPS1, PPS3 and PPS 3
• Tender bidding processes, including contract documents
• The Best Practice Guidance for Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (VLA)

ApplyArboricultural Surveyor
UK - South East England | £21,000-£23,000 per annum (6 month contract)
One of the UK’s largest and most respected environmental Consultancies is currently seeking an Arboricultural Surveyor to undertake surveying work around the south of England
The role will be focused on managing and auditing vegetation management contracts within the utility sector.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising contractors and auditing completed work
- Carrying out tree surveys and risk assessments along overhead power lines, railways and on public and private land
- Assessing tree work requirements and preparing contractor work specifications
You will have a degree (or equivalent) in arboriculture, forestry or related land management subject and relevant practical experience in linear vegetation surveys. You will also have:
- Experience working with vegetation management, ideally within a utility company
- Experience and knowledge of preparing clear work specifications and risk assessments for contractors
- Knowledge and experience of tree surveying techniques and risk/hazard assessment methodologies.

Working on projects in the South of England you will be joining an established organisation which has a strong reputation in ecology, landscape architecture and arboriculture.
Focusing on vegetation insurance claims, you will be:
- Investigating and resolving vegetation damage to buildings, primarily clay shrinkage subsidence
- Providing legislative and insurance advice to clients
- Carrying out vegetation surveying, species identification and hazard assessment
- Managing projects to time and within budget
You will ideally have a degree (or HND) in a relevant field such as Arboriculture or Forestry and will be a member of a professional body.
You will be commercially focused and will have:
- A strong understanding of legal and insurance practices related to arboriculture
- Experience of working to targets and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
