Business Development Manager - Fashion / Textiles Supply Chain – 6 month Fixed Term Contract

UK - London | £35K – pro rata

A passionate development organisation, looking to improve company supply chain and trading ethics, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their textiles / fashion team, to work with existing clients as well as opening up new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will liaise with producers and supply chain managers to identify and resolve barriers to the development of products in accordance with licensing systems and procedures. You will:

  • Ensure that detailed and comprehensive product information is available, including market information on licensees, information on producers as well as the volume, value and impact of their sales
  • Identify and progress opportunities for increasing existing retailers
  • Encourage communications with commercial partners by providing input into the planning and delivery of printed materials, newsletter and bulletins, licensee meetings and trade shows
  • Agree project objectives and targets and produce evaluation reports with the Head of Business Development

The successful individual will be able to demonstrate a track record in business-to-business sales, account management and relationship management, ideally within the fashion or textiles industry. You will also have strong communication, problem solving and presentation skills. Spanish language skills would be advantageous, but not essential.

This position is a pivotal role within the company and will be critical to the future growth and direction of the company. The work will involve shaping the overall sustainability offer and seeking out and working with clients throughout Europe, client advisory work, and team management and coordination.

The right individual for this position is likely to be an influential figure within the wider sustainability agenda, possibly working in a major consultancy role or leading the sustainability practice within a PR / communications agency. Key experience and attributes required include:

We are interested to speak with credible leaders with exceptional business development, management and commercial experience. Managing a growing team of high performers in the UK and US, your key duties will include:

  • Leading the business development, programme development and implementation of the scheme
  • Developing the business plan to ensure its long-term relevance and success
  • Building, managing and leading an international business development team to achieve the business plan
  • Delivering the budgeted sales volumes and managing the P&L financial performance of the business unit
  • Directing and managing user groups relating to the project to ensure delivery of agreed community aims and objectives
  • Developing a management reporting process allowing effective project management and customer engagement
  • When required, to lead the development of new CSR communities and/or products in CSR related areas

You will have a significant track record of business development preferably within the ICT sector or a CSR/Sustainability related field. In addition you will have knowledge of the UN Global Compact and experience, or a detailed understanding, of procurement activities. A well respected CR Communications Agency based in central London is looking for a PR Communications Manager on a 6 month contract to start immediately.

This position is responsible for managing a team of 4 PR executives along with up to 10 current international client accounts across FMCG, energy, environment, fashion, ICT and NGO industries. You will be devising a PR strategy, identifying promotional opportunities for clients, writing press releases, devising pitches for retainers and one-off projects, as well as managing the team and interns.

They are the leading not-for-profit certification programme that recognises and rewards sustainable practices in their sector, working from source through to the end user and all stakeholders in between.

They are now looking for the Communications Manager who will be responsible for broadening the understanding of our Clients policy to new and existing stakeholders across the globe, including conservation groups, media, industry clients and government agencies. A major component of the role will be communicating development, implementation and evaluation of projects, policies, methodologies, guidelines and directives related to the their organisation.
