Project Manager – EIA/ESIA

UK - Southern England | £30k - £50k

With rapid expansion in the energy sector and an increasing demand for EIA and ESIA consultancy, a position in South England has arisen for a Project Manager with a proven environmental consultancy background in oil, gas or thermal power.

As Project Manager you will manage environmental and social impact assessments for multiple energy projects in the UK and abroad, and will lead a geographical project team consisting of internal consultants and external sub contractors.

Key responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Developing geographically dispersed EIA/ESIA project teams
  • Establishing team and client standards
  • Successfully managing projects to budget
  • Taking leadership of EIA work across internal environmental teams
  • Winning business and identifying EIA/ESIA opportunities

You will have a proven project management background involving energy infrastructure schemes, and be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of EIA/ESIA.

This position will give you the opportunity to expand your experience and exposure to varying projects, and will involve international travel.

Junior Ecologist

UK - South west | £20k - £25k

A renewable energy company involved in planning and designing wind farms in the UK, is seeking to recruit a junior ecologist to join their in-house environmental team in the south west of England. This is a unique chance to work client side and learn from other environmental professionals involved in disciplines such as landscape architecture, hydrology and EIA.

You will work alongside a Senior/Principal Ecologist to undertake the following tasks:

  • Field work
  • Protected species surveys
  • Writing ecology chapters for planning permissions

To qualify for this position you will have graduated from a relevant environmental science degree and will want to continue your professional training in ecology. You will need to have started post graduate UK employment in ecology either through environmental consultancy or practical field studies in a related role.

Wind Farm Design Technician

UK - South West | Up to £28k

Acre is working with one of the leading green energy suppliers and wind farm developers in the UK. This household name is committed to the supply and creation of green energy and reducing the UK’s carbon emissions.

Due to growth within their renewables development department, the company is recruiting a Design Technician to support the development of wind farms. This role will involve:

  • Undertaking desk-top feasibility studies using GIS software on potential wind farm locations
  • Identifying, understanding and interpreting site constraints and requirements to produce optimum site design
  • Undertaking technical assessment including noise, access, line of sight and shadow flicker to inform the design process
  • Creating wind farm layouts using GIS and AutoCAD

The candidate will have a keen interest and commitment to Renewable Energy as well as being:

  • Conversant in at least one of the following packages: AutoCAD / Windfarm / MapInfo / ArcGIS / Photoshop / Illustrator
  • A good communicator with the ability to present complex information in a clear and logical format
  • A flexibility to travel to sites around the UK

Principal EIA Consultant

UK - Southampton | Up to £45,000 plus benefits

An environmental team within an award winning engineering consultancy is recruiting a new EIA technical and managerial lead to play an integral part in the ongoing success of the team.

The successful Consultant will have:

Toxicological Pathologist

UK - South East England | £ Dependent on Experience

A global organisation, renowned for their work in the chemical and environmental industry has retained Acre in the search for a Pathologist to join their R&D and Product Safety Group.

Providing technical expertise in the areas of toxicology, you will be working with third party groups in designing, conducting and managing studies to support regulatory submissions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing desk based studies to support new product registration
  • Presenting on behalf of the group and wider business at external events and conferences
  • Influencing the development of technical and techno-regulatory strategies

You will be a Veterinarian with a higher degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline. You will have experience in toxicological pathology, ideally in relation to regulatory studies and/or discovery.

Skills and experience required include:

  • The ability to lead teams in the identification and design of studies
  • Expertise to interpret the implication Xenobiotics have in product design and selection.
  • Expertise in analysing complex data across individual and multiple studies
  • A constant understanding of the latest scientific technologies
