The ideal Candidate will be experienced working in Consultancy with a solid understanding of and experience in:

• Embankment design and associated civil design elements
• Geotechnical design
• Feasibility studies
• Site experience

Educated to degree level in civil engineering with a higher degree in geotechnics the successful Candidate will have:

• Experience of the mining industry
• Knowledge of tailing dam design

Focusing on planning projects you will be:

• Managing a team of consultants within the planning department
• Carrying out habitat surveying, species identification and hazard assessment
• Conducting arboriculture surveying work
• Managing multiple projects across the UK at any one time

You will ideally have a degree (or equivalent) in a related environmental discipline and will be a member of a professional body.

You will be commercially focused and will have:

• Extensive ecology experience with licenses in Bats and Badgers
• Proven skills in managing large scale multi-disciplinary projects
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of arboriculture, and experience in planning principles

Joining the product safety department, you will be providing expertise and advice in environmental fate and behaviour. You will represent the business to external consultancies and regulators and support groundwater assessment work.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and delivering Environmental Fate projects using established regulatory approaches
• Developing new techniques and approaches to complex programs whilst advising on future technical strategies
• Maintaining and building the group’s scientific credibility in Environmental Fate and Behaviour
• Advising other Environmental Safety experts in complex studies and programmes

You will have a higher degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Chemistry and solid experience in a related field.

You will also have experience in:

• Project and program leadership within environmental science
• Interpreting complex data for chemicals and across groups of related chemicals
• Supporting technically robust positions with internal and external groups including consultancies and regulators
• Project Leadership, the ability to develop networks and a proven track record in providing a high level of technical judgement to a global network
