Acre has been asked to secure a head of business development for our client who specialises in the fabrication, erection and protective treatment of wind turbine towers. Based in Chepstow they are an established name in the construction of steel structures and have a reputation for providing cost effective and high quality products and services.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be tasked with developing long term relationships with wind turbine manufacturers supplying into both the UK and Europe. Educated to a degree level in an engineering discipline you must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of wind power and its position within the evolving renewable energy sector as a whole.

The key responsibilities for the position will be as follows:

  • Establish and manage the relationships with wind turbine manufacturers
  • Understand the technical and commercial requirements of potential clients
  • Prepare and present bids for the supply of wind turbine towers
  • Provide market and sales forecasts for business planning purposes
  • Liaise with internal divisions to ensure order continuity and the development of repeat business.

The Energy Efficiency and Solar Engineer will work within the Roof Physics and Validation Department, assessing the energy efficiency of roofing products and validating solar systems.

Your work will be varied and diverse but your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking computational modelling and analysis on a range of roofing materials and solar energy technologies
  • Carrying out experimental performance evaluation and engineering design calculations
  • Collecting field measurements and relevant data where required
  • Managing key tasks and projects and interacting with relevant stakeholders in various group-wide business units
  • Travelling on business internationally from time to time

This is an area of growing importance for Monier and the successful candidate will play a role in influencing the design of current and future roofing systems and solar technologies. Key skills and experience required include:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or scientific field
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • A thorough approach to work, with good attention to technical detail
  • A good standard of written and verbal communication in English

Acre has been instructed to find a Director of Operations to guide the design, development and operational management of an alternative fuel facility in the Middle East.

The company is renowned for providing innovative and challenging renewable energy solutions, enabling large scale CO2 reductions and cost saving energy usage.

Working in close partnership with the company’s commercial and industrial partners, this position will initially manage the alternative fuel plant‘s set up and commissioning. Once the plant is operational, the role will develop into one of managing the development, improvement and plant budget, as well as identifying potential new technologies and revenue streams.

Electrical Engineer – Wind Turbine Development
