Electrical Design Engineer – Anaerobic Digestion
UK - West Midlands or Northern Home Counties | £35,000
A high profile clean technology provider who design, build, and operate anaerobic digestion facilities, is under going a major growth phase to include the recruitment of an Electrical Design Engineer.
This is a critical role for the organisation’s continued development and the successful candidate will act as a centre of knowledge both internally and for sub contractors. Responsibilities of the role will include:
- The production of electrical drawings including single line drawing, cable schedule and termination schedules, and cable routing drawing
- Preparing technical specification for electrical installation contractor
- Providing advice on CHP/HV connection, liaising with specialist contractors and producing the design for the control panel
- Preparing technical specification for electrical installation contractor
- Providing a front line trouble shooting service for electrical related issues
- Liaising with commissioning engineers during pre-commissioning and commissioning of the project
This role requires a wide range of skills and experience, essential requirements include:
- HND in electrical engineering (or equivalent) plus experience or practical background
- Fully conversant with all forms of electrical engineering documentation
- Broad knowledge of applicable national and international codes and standards
- Extended experience and in-depth understanding and ability to read engineering drawings
A professional qualification (IEng or CEng) is desirable.
This role will involve communicating complex ideas to a number of stakeholders; strong communication and influencing skills are essential. You will be working on cutting edge technology and will be required to take a leadership role in creating and implementing unique solutions.
A valid UK driver’s licence is essential.

Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Full accountability for global operations include major sites in the UK and Asia and reporting lines from the Head of Operations, Head of Sales and Head of Purchasing

The successful candidate will be able to communicate and implement ideas across the Group from board level to yard floor. They are now recruiting a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for the commercial management of new business projects during their development stage. This role will involve introducing the anaerobic digestion solution to clients and project managing through to operation.
This is a critical role for the organization’s continued development. Responsibilities of the role will include:
- Identifying, approaching, and bringing on board prospective clients in both the public and private sector
- Negotiating complex contracts, creating and implementing financial models, and continually updating clients with progression reports
- Managing relationships with customers, joint venture partners and other key stakeholders
- Working with the team and external consultants to ensure planning permissions are obtained
- Conducting feasibility studies, negotiating contracts and evaluating business opportunities
This role requires a wide range of skills and experience, essential requirements include:
- Significant commercial experience ideally in the waste, energy or environment sectors
- Experience of preparing complex tenders, preferably to local authorities or public sector clients
- A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or science and preferably a post-graduate business qualification or equivalent
- Project or programme management skills with an ability to bring together a wide range of stake holders
